James Elliott

James Elliott, born Feb 3rd, 1991, grew up loving music and singing along to every song he knew. Raised by older parents in Owensboro Ky, he was introduced to a multitude of different styles and eras of music. Ranging from what is now considered golden oldies, to classic country, metal, and rock and roll, these influences are evident in the music he tries to create today.
At a very young age, James took after his dad singing everything that came on the radio. This gave him an inept ability to memorize lyrics and melodies and started him trying to mimic the tones and control of his favorite artists.
At 15, James got his first guitar and worked on riffing and writing music in the metal scene before settling into the band Dead Before Dawn.
This band didn’t last long, and music went on the back burner for roughly a decade before James picked up the acoustic guitar and ultimately began Yellow Banks with previous, founding member, Dylan Morris.
